Custom orthotics are prescription medical devices, worn inside the shoe to correct structural misalignment originating from the foot.
During your Biomechanical Assessment appointment, a range of diagnostic tests and gait analysis is undertaken and treatment options are given, including footwear modifications, orthotic therapy and exercise regimes.
If orthotics are indicated, a 3D digital scanner captures your foot and the clinician writes a prescription designed to realign and maximise your foot’s functionality, changing and improving the way your foot interacts with the ground.
Suited to all ages and issues, custom orthotics can be designed to suit your individual needs, lifestyle and shoe requirements.
Orthotics are the gold-standard treatment for a range of issues including but not limited to Plantar Fasciitis, generalised foot pain, tendon and joint issues and collapsing arches. Designed to correct the underlying issues that cause joint and tendon pain and issues, they can be used to prevent further deterioration and in some cases as an alternative to surgery.
Available in our Weston-Super-Mare and Bruton clinics only, please choose a Biomechanical Assessment appointment from the online booking treatment options.
